Diesel Taps a Cult Berlin Kebab Kiosk for Its Latest Drop
Despite so many collaborations dropping on a daily basis, the hunger for co-branded product never seems to be appeased. Amid the wealth of bi-label drops it does, however, take a special team-up to really stand out. Seeking to challenge the usual format in what is clearly a satirical dig at the state of collabs in the fashion industry, Diesel has tapped Berlin-based cult kebab kiosk, Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap, for its latest apparel and denim drop.
The döner kebab is the fast food of Berlin and Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap is without a doubt the most hyped stand in the German Capital (it even has its own commercial). So much so, that the legendary kebab kiosk has become an iconic destination in the city, drawing in tourists who wait for hours on end to sample its flavorsome offerings and try to decipher its secret sauce.
Inspired by the mass allure of Mustafa's delights, Diesel teamed up with the kebab kiosk for a capsule encompassing sweatshirts, t-shirts, jeans, and caps, all of which feature a graphical mash-up of both Diesel’s and Mustafa’s Gemüse Kebap’s logos. To launch the collection, Diesel headed down to legendary kebab stall to capture the long line of eager diners and find out what they know about its founder and head chef, Mustafa.
The forthcoming collection launches on August 31 at Bread&&Butter by Zalando, where Mustafa will also be serving up his delicious kebabs. It will then be available to cop on diesel.com and in selected Diesel stores worldwide from September 3.
