Two-time Oscar nominee Gus Van Sant has teamed up with Amazon Studios for a new original picture, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot. Based on a true story, and adapted from John Callahan's autobiography, the film centers around an alcoholic who nearly loses his life in a tragic car accident.

Joaquin Phoenix in turn plays John Callahan, who upon being injured in the aforementioned wreck, still insists on drinking heavily day in and day out. With help from his sponsor, played by Jonah Hill, and his girlfriend, played by Rooney Mara, Callahan then discovers his talent for drawing edgy, irreverent newspaper cartoons that ultimately gain a national following.

Jack Black, Carrie Brownstein, Beth Ditto, and Kim Gordon also star in the upcoming comedic drama, coming to select theaters May 11.
