What if it was Nike, not adidas, that was collaborating with the popular anime Dragon Ball Z? That's what illustrator Chad Manzo must have been thinking when he unveiled his take on a Nike x Dragon Ball Z sneaker collaboration.

Posted to his Instagram and exclusively unveiled by Sneaker Freaker, Manzo has mocked up a series popular Nike sneakers — highlighted by the OFF-WHITE x Nike Air Jordan 1, React Element 87, and ACRONYM x Nike Air Presto Mid, in addition to the Air Force 1 High Utility, Air Max 1, and Air Max 90 — in DBZ-inspired colorways.

The Air Jordan features a blue/orange/yellow Goku-themed makeup with “SAIYAN” detailing in place of the customary “AIR” branding on the sole, while Cell’s iconic purple, black, and green hues are transported onto the ACRONYM Air Presto Mid.

Arguably the best of the designs is the Frieza React Element 87, which boasts purple and white color blocking worthy of an in-house Nike design.

Next, we see the Air Force 1 High Utility sporting a bright pink look with light-colored detailing, a nod to Bulma, as the "Future Trunks" Air Max 1 finds hits of purple and yellow coming together. Lastly, the Air Max 90 points to Vegeta with its blue, yellow, and white scheme.

According to Sneaker Freaker, Manzo could reveal further designs from this DBZ x Nike project. If that’s the case, we’ll be keeping this page updated with the newest concepts, so make sure you check back in.
