Highsnobiety

Getting dressed right now is a strange game. Doing it well? Even more of an enigma. Our homebound bodies are calling out for something, anything, other than grey sweatpants. But that doesn't mean they want to suffer the discomfort of working from the couch all day in a pair of denim jeans, either.

Contrary to popular belief, you can dress well in the current climate. It's all about going for relaxed clothing and accessories that let you and your wardrobe breathe a little. There are heaps of designers and labels outputting luxury pieces that are perfect for lazing through the day with and we headed to MATCHESFASHION to pick out some of our recent favorites.

Not only that. We're optimists here at Highsnobiety and we believe better times are on their way. And by better times, we mean more freedom. When that time comes and the warmer weather sets in, the selection below will be just as relevant.

Scroll for our relaxed approach to dressing well during lockdown.

Homewear as clothes for the real world was a recurring theme at recent FW20 shows. See Fendi and Zegna taking the bathrobe coat down the runway or Prada's take on pajamas. When summer hits, these Tekla shorts will work 24/7.

Mules were already having a big moment pre-covid, but quarantine conditions supercharged that. A pair of Birkenstock doesn't care about fashion moments, though. These are timeless.

The top half counts most in the age of the Zoom call and nothing says I'm going all out at home like a brazen Jil Sander logo tee.

Yes, the ubiquitous track pant made it here, too. If you insist on wearing them, at least make them interesting. This Aries pair fits the bill.

A good cardigan walks that fine line between home and outerwear so well, and it's why I've been living in them pretty much since the first lockdown. When it comes to colors, keeping it simple always works.

Perfecting the laid-back approach, sartorially speaking, is also in the cuts. This graphic polo shirt, from the house of JW Anderson, has a dropped shoulder to really take the weight off.

Our Legacy's padded totes are some of my favorite bags around right now. Perfect for grocery store missions, solo park trips, lockdown walks around the block. You name it.

Relaxed dressing isn't just about the clothes you wear, it's a state of mind. OK, it's mostly the clothes you wear, but a pair of sunnies might trick that mind into thinking you've left the country.
