If you thought you were the only one stupid enough to fall in love with somebody clearly on the rebound, you’re wrong. Very wrong, in fact. It turns out that Elon Musk, the same Elon Musk who is supposedly one of the smartest guys on the planet, fell into the very same trap.
Amber Heard, as you may remember, divorced Johnny Depp in late 2016 and then began dating Musk in April of this year. The new couple then reportedly broke up in August.
Though many of us have experienced a disastrous relationship with somebody on the rebound, just be thankful that you and I don’t have to face prying questions from journalists in the aftermath and thus won’t be found on the webpages of Rolling Stone crying about how heartbroken and lonely we are.
“I was really in love, and it hurt bad,” Musk said. “She broke up with me more than I broke up with her, I think.”
Heard wrote on Instagram (check the comments) that they still “care deeply for one another and remain close.” She also said she was going through “difficult, very human times.”
Now, Musk is on search for love once again. “If I’m not in love, if I’m not with a long-term companion, I cannot be happy… Going to sleep alone kills me,” he said. But, even for a billionaire genius, it ain’t easy (apparently). “Is there anybody you think I should date?” he asked the Rolling Stone reporter. “It’s so hard for me to even meet people.”
