Highsnobiety

To mark International Ocean Month, Salvatore Ferragamo presents the F-80 Skeleton With Sustainable Strap, an exclusive re-edition of one of its most successful timepieces. A tribute to the sea and an effort to play an active role in mindful creation, Ferragamo’s F-80 Skeleton is a treasure of its own.

Limited to 200 pieces for each of the 2 colour variations and crafted to perfection, the F-80 Skeleton's complex mechanization is laid bare to evoke a feeling of transparency. Innovation and creativity in the use of materials have characterized Salvatore Ferragamo’s path from the very beginning and for years the brand has been paying increasing attention to the environmental impact of its activities with the aim of offering high-quality, responsible products.

The F-80 Skeleton is an elegant satin-finished steel timepiece with a transparent backplate and skeleton dial. The strap is made of materials with a low environmental impact: a thin layer of FSC certified cork covers the inner part, while the outer part is made of fabric composed from post-consumer recycled PET fiber with hole covers in vegetable-tanned leather. The box is in FSC certified cardboard, while the protective case, in wood and metal, is lined internally with hemp and externally with fabric made of a post-consumer recycled PET fiber. A watch cushion made of bioplastic material derived 100% from sugar cane makes for a smooth finish.

The new F-80 Skeleton With Sustainable Strap will be on sale from the end of June in Salvatore Ferragamo boutiques, at authorized retailers, and online.
