Brands: Fred Perry x Thames

Season: SS18

Key Pieces: For a classic look, you can’t go wrong with pairing the collaborative polo in blue with the gingham bomber jacket.

Editor’s Notes: Teaming up for their second collaborative drop, British labels Fred Perry and Thames have unveiled a sweet his and hers collection, repurposing select items from the former’s archives.

Titled “Fifth Wheel,” the 13-piece capsule includes polos, jumpers, visors, and bomber jackets, as well as tennis skirts and dresses which mark Thames’ first foray into womenswear. Using pastel colors and gingham patterns throughout, the result is a fresh take on sportswear for the millennial shopper.

Knitwear makes a strong appearance in the collection. Naturally, the two brands have combined logos, with Fred Perry’s laurel wreath worked into Thames’ script.

“I was bored of skating in T-shirts, so I started wearing Fred Perry shirts,” said Thames founder Blondey McCoy. “I love the silhouette and how their clothes have been re-interpreted by so many different cultures and I always thought, ‘I’d love to see my logo on that.’”
