Emilia Clarke has revealed who is responsible for the Game of Thrones' now-infamous "Starbucks-gate" production gaffe. Taking to Instagram, Clarke posted an image of her and Peter Dinklage posing for a photo with former GoT cast member Jason Momoa. In the picture, Clarke is holding a coffee cup, although her caption suggests she isn't entirely to blame.

"Did I just stumble upon the truth here?!" she wrote. "The cup bearer does not drinketh the Starbucks tea… oh and this ain’t a spoiler just a lost wanderer coming home for a mid filming cuppa."

Whether the cup in question was Clarke's or she was just holding it for Momoa, the suggestion is that the Aquaman star's on-set visit had something to do with the error.

While Clarke is investigating the source of the stray coffee cup, HBO is trying to forget the mistake ever happened. The company has now edited out the cup spotted on a table in front of Daenerys Targaryen in Sunday's episode. The episode viewable on HBO Now and HBO Go is now an updated, decaffeinated version.

Previously, the Game of Thrones Twitter account joked, "The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake. Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."

Starbucks also responded to the error, joking that it was surprised Daenerys hadn't ordered a Dragon Drink (below). However, as The Wall Street Journal reported, the cup was in fact from the set's catering service, not Starbucks.

Of course, in the period between the episode airing and HBO's response, the blooper sparked a number of memes on Twitter. You can check out the best reactions to the Game of Thrones "Starkbucks" incident below.
