While winter may conjure up cozy images of neighborhood sleigh rides or spiked hot chocolate après-ski by an open fire, Hogan wants you to explore more adventurous terrain. The luxury sneaker brand journeys to the northern hemisphere for their Fall/Winter 2019 collection, channeling all the wintry activities of a wide-open frontier: gazing at the Northern Lights, hiking among vast glaciers, and gliding down craggy, snow-laden landscapes. With that as inspiration, this season Hogan has dropped two high-end sneakers: for him, the Urban Trek and, for her, the Interaction.
For those unfamiliar with the premium brand, Hogan has a rich history of crafting top-line Italian footwear and apparel. Based out of Milan, founder Andrea Della Valle, also Vice President of the Tod's Group, established the company with a strong focus on functional luxury. Hogan's durable leather material and classic silhouettes carry forward Della Valle's central ethos: less is more.
For FW 2019, the brand has introduced the Urban Trek, a new model that intends to fuse the rugged ergonomics of outdoor sportswear with the informal elegance of the everyday man. Hogan inaugurates the shoe with classic black and classic white – except each is elevated with thin ribbon detailing along the eyelets and mudguards with contrasting cut-outs. Another white colorway has rose gold accents and an additional black colorway pair pops with hints of orange on the sole and blue eyelets. Hogan’s most left-field sneaker in the line is dedicated to those seeking a hint of aurora borealis in every step, with dusky pink and blue uppers and fluro-green eye stays.
The Interaction is Hogan’s signature sneaker with a contemporary, seasonal spin. As such, the model comes in classic shades: all-white, all-white with chrome silver accents, all black, or another with black leather uppers and a heavy white, striped sole. Playful technical details inspired by ice-climbing and soft rope laces are also thrown into the mix.
Footwear aside, Hogan’s broader apparel and accessories collections prioritize warmth with a sleek and sporty spin. That means your standard winter wear fare: over-structured parkas and down jackets with major faux fur details featuring prominently on the accessories side.
