Along with producing one of the most critically acclaimed albums of the year, Kendrick Lamar has also been responsible for creating some 2015's best music videos. Directed by Colin Tilley, the man behind Lamar's VMA-winning "Alright" clip, the rapper has recently released a cinematic (and ludicrous) new visual accompaniment to his track "These Walls," featuring Bilal, Anna Wise and Thundercat.
Stretching over eight minutes, the video, which welcomes cameos from comedian Corey Holcolmb and Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews, intercuts between a prison and a buckwild house party where untimely circumstances lead to an arrest, the destruction of a wall and the revelation of a startling affair. There’s also a talent show interlude with Kendrick and Crews dancing to iHeartMemphis’ Vine-famous dance “Hit The Quan.”
Watch the bizarre narrative unfold in the video for "These Walls" above and check out Kendrick perform the song with the National Symphony Orchestra.
