Hedi Slimane will present his first Céline collection in September, and we’ve been given a sneak preview via pop star Lady Gaga, who flaunted the designer’s first bag for the brand on a recent trip to Paris.

Gaga has history with the designer’s debuts, having rocked his first Saint Laurent collection — Spring 2013 — before it hit the runway in Paris in 2012. The singer took the new black leather handbag on a tour of the French capital, including a jaunt to the Louvre, where she was pictured holding it in a totally natural position (ahem) in front of Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. The satchel-style bag with a gold clasp and accents might not go down in history like da Vinci’s masterpiece, but it still looked damn good.

Gaga stylist Tom Eerebout confirmed to Business of Fashion that Slimane had “gifted her the bag” and that it’s “the first one from his new collection.”

The singer also offered her best poker face while posing with the bag on Instagram, pairing it with an orange dress, aviators, and black heels. In the shots, you can see the leather tassel attached to the strap bears the initials “L.G.” in gold lettering. Nice touch. Expect the bag — albeit without personalized monogram — to be part of Slimane’s Céline debut show at Paris Fashion Week on September 28.
