One of the most eye-catching pieces to come down the runway at Louis Vuitton's Cruise 2019 show was Louis Vuitton's thigh-high Archlight boot, which has now surfaced on the fashion house's web store. Reinterpreted by artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, the new take on the shoe is a far crazier rendition of an already outlandish sneaker.
For those unfamiliar, the original Archlight comes in an unconventional, chunky silhouette, and is already widely considered a high fashion anomaly even in the increasingly experimental bulky sneaker landscape. Notably co-signed by Jaden Smith, the sneaker is sleek and futuristic, with an exaggerated arch, tongue, heel, and lacing system.
These new iterations for women go one step further in making a statement. Available in three colorways — white, "noir orange", and "noir fuschia" — colorful rubber soles contrast with a sleeker stretch-lambskin upper. And, while the original Archlight low-top comes with a price tag of $1,090, the new boots come at near double that for £2,050.
