Marc Jacobs has achieved a lot throughout his career but at 56 he had yet to learn how to drive. Just months after celebrating his star-studded wedding, he undertook another right of passage, this time in a Home Depot parking lot. Jacobs was suitably attired for the challenge, opting for an orange, terry fabric bucket, a pink Lucy Peanuts x Marc Jacobs sweatsuit, adidas slides, and rose-tinted glasses. The designer uploaded footage from day two of his driving induction, demonstrating a solid command of the  “9-3” and a safety-first attitude to speed and steering.

With just about the minimum amount of driving under his belt, the American designer decided it was time to purchase a Porsche, or as he described it, his “mid-life crisis car.” Watch him navigate the world of luxury car-customization in the video above.
