Marco McKinnis is hours away from making his grand debut with the release of his Underground EP. After collaborating with artists like Rex Orange County and DJDS, the soul singer is ready for the spotlight. Today, we’re premiering the full project before it officially drops at midnight on August 24.
As you’ll soon find out, listening to his poetic R&B songs sends a warm rush to the ears. With six tracks to keep you company, you’ll want to cancel your plans for the rest of the night immediately. In an email to Highsnobiety, he briefly explained how Underground represents love and his personal evolution.
“Making this project was literally when I was a secret to the world, an unknown name and voice,” he said. “Now is the perfect time to drop this project because from here on out, I’m exiting the underground stage and developing into the artist I’ve been preparing and called here to be.”
While the EP has been his latest priority, that’s not the only thing that McKinnis has been working on. According to Twitter, he’s been collaborating on some sort of project with digital influencer Jay Versace as well. There’s always something special in the vault, hopefully we’ll get to hear more material soon.
