NBA All-Star Weekend is coming up soon and, while most of the world will be focused on LeBron James and Stephen Curry going at each other on the court, we’ve got a very different battle in mind away from the hardwood.
Some of the world’s best basketball players are also some of the most stylish athletes around, which is why we’re pitting eight of our favorite ballers against each other in the unofficial NBA All-Star Weekend Fit Battle.
From Tuesday, February 13 to Thursday, February 15 we’ll be running a set of Instagram Stories on @Highsnobiety that pits each of the contestants against each other.
Using the built-in polls you can vote for your favorite in each matchup, single elimination style, until we announce the winner on Friday just before NBA All-Star Weekend kicks off in real life.
To help you make your choice, we’ve got some info on each of the contestants and their style below. First, though, check out the tournament bracket below.
James Harden – WINNER
James Harden will probably finish as this year’s MVP but it’s not as clear-cut when it comes to off-court style. He likes to experiment and pushes the concept of pre-game fashion to the extreme at times.
Russell Westbrook – ELIMINATED
Westbrook’s style off the court is as abrasive as his play on it. Often seen rocking Jordan Brand, Balenciaga, and Fear of God, the Oklahoma City Thunder point guard is one of the best dressers in the NBA.
Jordan Clarkson – ELIMINATED
Jordan Clarkson is a young gun and his style reflects that. You’ll see a lot of OFF–WHITE, Fear of God, and Balenciaga, but he makes it work, balancing out the statement pieces for an undeniably cool look.
Dwyane Wade – ELIMINATED
D-Wade is struggling to show he can still kick it with the kids on the court. His style pre and post game, though, is something he’s perfected over the years. Just as Westbrook has his own style, so too does Wade.
Nick Young – ELIMINATED
Nick Young aka Swaggy P. He dresses like he plays. Need we say more?
Damian Lillard – ELIMINATED
Damian Lillard can ball, he can rap, and he can also dress pretty well. The Portland Trailblazers PG is never one to take the safe option, pulling it off more often than not.
Iman Shumpert – ELIMINATED
Iman Shumpert is very much here for crazy prints, wild stylings, and a lot of hype brands. Fear of God, OFF–WHITE and Margiela regularly find a home alongside brands like 40sandshorties, Misguided and YEEZY.
Stephen Curry – ELIMINATED
Admittedly, Steph Curry is the least streetwear out of all of these players. He spends a lot of time repping Under Armour and shooting holes on the golf course, however, he has shown the ability to put together a fire ‘fit on occasion.
