The Lemony Fresh Jordan 1’s GORE-TEX Era Peaks on The Trail
Yes, the Nike Air Jordan 1 is now a GORE-TEX-wearing trail runner. Well, sort of. The Nike Air Jordan 1 Low Element GORE-TEX “Phantom/Light Lemon Twist” continues the gradual shift of Michael Jordan’s most iconic sneaker toward something more outdoors-minded.
Jordan 1 High shoes have shown up over the years dressed for protection against the occasional rogue puddle while moving through the city. The Low Element sneaker takes that idea further.
The upper combines durable grid nylon with premium suede, while a GORE-TEX lining delivers the waterproof protection and breathability the material is known for.
Nike has flirted with outdoor-ready Jordan shoes before, most notably through GORE-TEX Jordan 1 Highs, but the Low Element pushes things deeper into modern gorp territory.
It also looks nothing like its high-top cousin, with the “Phantom/Light Lemon Twist” colorway standing out as one of the brighter executions in the Element lineup so far.
Available now on Nike’s website for $200, the “Phantom/Light Lemon Twist” keeps its Air Jordan 1 cues subtle, including perforated detailing, while blending in more overtly utilitarian elements.
Visually, the shoe shares DNA with ACG mountain models and Nike’s outdoorsy C1TY sneaker.
Slightly out of its element, and once again, better for it.
