Editor’s Notes: This women’s exclusive LeBron 16 colorway was designed by four designers from Harlem’s Fashion Row: Brandice Daniels, Kimberly Goldson, Felisha Noel, and Undra Celeste Duncan. The organization has been working to uplift up-and-coming female designers of color for the past decade.

The colorway is inspired by the strong women in LeBron James’s life and is one of many ways in which the NBA superstar is giving an under-represented group the opportunity to express their talents.

Alongside premier Nike technology such as Battleknit 2.0, the sneaker features LeBron’s lion with bared teeth, through which the designers criss-crossed the laces. Another highlight is the genuine leather bracelet seen around the ankle, which can be removed and turned into a bracelet to be worn on your wrist.

In addition, the special insole is adorned with four words LeBron has consistently used to describe his mom: strength, loyalty, dignity, and courage.

The special edition HFR x Nike LeBron 16 will be available on the Nike SKRS app and Nike.com in the U.S. only starting September 7.
