Editor’s Notes: Berlin retailer Overkill has renewed its longstanding relationship with PUMA to combine on a special edition CELL-Venom. The project is inspired by the Y2K crash, with nuclear missiles destroying the planet and much of its population, hence the name “Radiant Venom.”
The sneaker uses the aforementioned bright hits of color to create a radioactive effect on materials such as suede, smooth leather, and a classic mesh.
First released in 1998, the Cell Venom clearly speaks the language of its era, featuring a classic mesh/suede construction, striking logo hits and a wealth of ‘90s tech, most notably the shoe’s eponymous Cell technology.
Look out for the Overkill x PUMA CELL-Venom to drop on March 29 in-store and online at Overkill.
