Snapchat has introduced a new group chat feature that lets users make a group video call with up to 16 of their friends. For voice calls, users can include up to 32 people on one call.
The new development comes alongside a new "Mentions" feature which allows you to tag people in your snap, similar to what Instagram stories already has in place. To use it, type @ followed by their username and the person tagged will be notified in their chat window.
The changes come after Snapchat was called out by Rihanna for posting an ad that asked users whether they'd prefer to "slap Rihanna" or "punch Chris Brown." Snapchat later admitted that the advert "made light of domestic violence" and apologized, but the controversy caused the company's stock to drop, costing Snap Inc. nearly $1 billion.
