When it comes to injecting some bright color pops into your ’fits, there’s a finite number of designers who can really do it right. One of them, without question, is Joost Jansen, founder of Dutch brand Survival of the Fashionest. The brand just brought its quirky knits to the online storefront of Opening Ceremony, and let’s just say we were quick to retire our dreary all-black winter aesthetics.
Survival of the Fashionest is preserving knitwear heritage and traditional craftsmanship in Europe, highlighting artisanry that’s being forgotten elsewhere in the fashion industry. Jansen works with European knitters to create quality handmade garments with meticulous detailing and unique designs in every color of the rainbow.
Nine bold knitwear designs from SOTF are now available to buy at Opening Ceremony, with prices starting from $509. All are made from 100 percent Irish Donegal wool and take approximately two weeks to create, arriving in a specially designed “Box of Wonders”.
