The first trailer for Ana Lily Amipour's highly-anticipated new film, The Bad Batch, has finally been released — and, to put it bluntly, it's all kinds of fucked up.
The visionary director's first film, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, exploded into the cinema world last year, delighting critics with its fresh and imaginative (not to mention, challenging) storytelling. The Bad Batch, starring Jason Momoa and Keanu Reeves alongside model Suki Waterhouse, in her first major role, looks to pick up exactly where Amipour left off.
The film is set in a post-apocalyptic United States, where those who are deemed not good enough, smart enough, or cool enough are dumped in a "Texas wasteland fenced off from civilized society." Waterhouse plays Arlen, a woman who must find her way around this crazy and demonic new landscape while being hunted by cannibals — it's basically Burning Man, only with people out to kill and eat you.
It's still unclear exactly where the story goes, or who the real bad guys are — all we know is that this could be one of the most disturbing films of the year. Check out the trailer above.
