The Labubu People Are Making Literally Space-Age Vans Shoes
Even the Labubu has Vans, sort of. Pop Mart, the Chinese toy giant behind the collectible, cuddly, and somehow unavoidable demon called Labubu, is officially everywhere.
Yes, that Labubu, the one printed on LV bags, the one that turns pop-ups into overnight camps like they dropped 2010s Rick Owens “Dunks”. But this Vans sneaker collab has nothing to do with furry chaos or gremlin-coded mascots.
Instead, Vans is celebrating one of Pop Mart’s lesser-known but equally beloved figures, Space Molly, a big-eyed astronaut with a skateboard habit. This is the second time Vans and Space Molly link up, and the new drop turns three familiar silhouettes into pastel, cosmic souvenirs.
The Vans Authentic comes in a gingerbread-toned pastel mix with small space graphics tucked into the upper.
The Old Skool leans softer, matching Space Molly’s suit with light fades and tiny galaxy prints that look like they were pulled straight from her helmet visor.
The Knu Skool is the loud one, covered in checkerboard patterns and Space Molly details that feel more toy cabinet than skate shop.
If you want to dive deeper into Pop Mart territory without joining the Labubu-toasting crowd, the Space Molly Vans collection arrives November 19 on Vans’ website. Some Vans stores will also offer a limited Vans x Space Molly 400% figure with her own tiny matching Vans sneakers, which might be the real prize here.
And if you are still waiting on an official Labubu x Vans shoe moment, there is hope. The Labubu allegedly skateboards and even wears Carhartt, so the most popular collectible on the planet might want to lace up some Vans at some point, right?
