Vince Staples is about to swerve into Hollywood. The California-based rapper has landed a starring role in the Richard Hughes-directed indie film Punk. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Staples plays a man named Peter who winds up embarking on a road trip with a group of professional bank robbers that are on the run from the FBI.

A release date for the independent drama has not been announced at this time. Staples is also set to appear in Shôjirô Nishimi and Guillaume Renard’s animated film MFKZ as the voice of Viz. Back in 2015, the rapper had a minor role in the movie Dope as “Dom’s Crew 1.” Next week, he will perform at the tribute concert being held for Mac Miller at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.

In other news, RY X dropped a remix of Rhye’s “Waste.” Get all the details right here.
