The SS19 menswear campaign is based on a theme of boyhood, depicting boys of three, seven, and 16 years old in Louis Vuitton product. The short film is very similar. In it, Abloh asked Klincewicz to gift kids in Los Angeles leftover T-Shirts, which originally served as invitations to Louis Vuitton’s SS19 menswear show in Paris, and film them hanging out and running around in the tees.
The resulting video is typical of Klincewicz’s signature lo-fi aesthetic. Like the campaigns he shot for MSBHV and Gosha Rubchinskiy, his skate videos, and previous Louis Vuitton promotional work, Klincewicz’s visuals are grainy with strong analog vibes, delivering a look that chimes perfectly with the overall campaign’s nostalgia-inducing exploration of youth.
