[UPDATE: March 6, 4:45 a.m. EST]: YMW Melly has pled not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the double homicide of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy. XXL reports. The rapper, born Jamell Demons, was arrested and charged on February 13 for the crime, which took place in October 2018.

The police department of Miramar Florida alleges the rapper, born Jamell Demons, is responsible for the shooting and killing of two of his friends in the YNW crew, 21-year-old YNW Sakchaser (born Anthony Williams) and 19-year-old YNW Juvy (Christopher Thomas Jr.).

YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen, who was also arrested and charged, originally claimed that the two men were killed in a drive-by shooting, but police confirmed that evidence from the crime scene points to the killing taking place inside the Jeep Compass the four individuals were driving in.

YNW Melly and YNW Bortlen have been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, Sun Sentinel reports. The Florida rappers — real names Jamell Demons and Cortlen Henry — have been accused of killing two members of their own YNW crew, and then staging the crime scene to make it look like a drive-by shooting.

Per the report, Demons and Henry shot and killed aspiring rappers Anthony Williams (YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (YNW Juvy) on October 26 in South Florida. The victims we’re both aged 19 and sustained multiple gunshot wounds.  They are described as being close friends of Demons.

On Wednesday this week, Demons posted an image to Instagram that stated he was turning himself in. “To all my fans and supporters no I did not get locked up in Washington , but I am turning myself in today.” Adding, “A couple months ago I lost my two brothers by violence and now the system want to find justice.”
