We can officially bid farewell to the Olympics gold medalist and Keeping Up with the Kardashians patriarch formally known as Bruce Jenner. After months of rumors and speculation, Jenner finally revealed plans of transitioning into a female via an exclusive interview with Diane Sawyer in April. Now, the world has been granted a first look at “Caitlyn” Jenner as she graces the cover of Vanity Fair’s July 2015 issue. Shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, the first portraits of the transgendered father were taken inside of her Malibu home. Prize-winning contributing editor and author Buzz Bissinger was given exclusive access to Jenner, who told the writer, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’”
Looks like after 65 years of profound unhappiness, Jenner, who recently took to Twitter to reveal the cover photo, can finally have a shot at living her life the way she always wanted to.
Watch the “behind-the-scenes” video of the shoot below and look out for the issue when it hits newsstands on June 9.
