After four colorway releases of the YEEZY Boost 350, three of the 750 and four of the 950, it’s clear that the Kanye West x adidas partnership is here to stay. adidas is so keen on keeping the international icon around that they will also be opening a series of standalone YEEZY retail stores, in addition having a team of 20 employees based in Portland who will be solely dedicated to designing a full range of YEEZY sneakers and apparel for men and women.

Now, the company has revealed that Ye’s YEEZY line won’t stop at lifestyle and sportswear products, but it will also be expanding to the court and the field. For the first time ever, adidas is slated to launch non-athlete signature product that’s crafted for performance, and what better person to be the face of the brand than Kanye West?

adidas is scheduled to debut YEEZY basketball sneakers beginning in early 2017, as a number of their signature athletes will be expected to be donning the kicks on NBA hardwoods.

In addition, Kanye will be getting his own football, baseball and soccer shoes, as the brand is looking to sign even more NFL and MLB athletes.

In recent years, adidas has been sponsoring roughly 20 players in each professional league, but they are aiming at signing up to 250 athletes in both the NLF and MLB within the next three seasons. Of course, having Kanye West as the face of the brand won’t hurt locking in high profile athletes.

Even still, could Kanye ever really “jump over the Jumpman?”

Stay tuned for more on Kanye’s forthcoming performance lines with adidas.
