Editor’s Notes: adidas released the “Red Apple” NMD to mark the opening of its NYC flagship around this time last year. Limited to 200 pairs, the kicks were launched by Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era crew. To cop them a year on, you’d probably have to sell a vital organ; the sneaker is said to be worth around $2,250 on the resale market.
Now, it looks as if a “Red Apple 2.0” will be releasing as part of an upcoming NMD_R1 pack. Like the previous release, the updated version features red speckled Primeknit and a white Boost sole. It mixes things up, however, swapping red Three Stripes branding for black and white EVA plugs for red. Additionally, it comes without 3M laces.
If “Red Apple” is a little too loud, then you’ll also be cop in darker hues of gray or black.
Look out for the shoe in the coming months, and check out the resale value behind adidas’s rarest NMDs in the meantime.
