Luxury lifestyle purveyor Totokaelo, initially based in Seattle, will be opening its own residency space in the East Coast this Friday, October 6 at 190 Bowery in New York.

The building, located at the corner of Bowery and Spring Street, was originally constructed to be the third home of Germania Bank in 1898. Having changed a few times since then and from 1966 until recently, was the home and studio of photographer Jay Maisel — Totokaelo will be the first fashion brand ever to exist in the space, in addition to provide the opportunity for the public to experience and explore the once very private and mysterious artist’s home.

Standout brands such as Calvin Klein, Vetements, Jacquemus, Viden and Acne Studios will be featured on the ground floor among many others, while the raw and roughness of the basement was left untouched, as the materials, textures, flooring and lighting provided an incredible backdrop for the lower floor designers to be showcased in, including Maison Margiela, Jil Sander, Marni, Lanvin and many more.

If you’re in the area, make sure to visit the revamped landmark building.
