Jim Carrey famously portrayed the late American entertainer Andy Kaufman in the 1999 American biographical comedy-drama film, Man on the Moon and this forthcoming Netflix documentary, Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond hones in on the actor and the time he spent emulating the erratic comedian.

Directed by Chris Smith and produced by Spike Jonze, the fascinating visuals compiles approximately 100 hours of footage shot on the set of Man on the Moon, documenting Carrey’s transformation into Kaufman for four months.

Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond emphasizes Carrey reflecting on the footage, which was captured by his girlfriend at the time, Lynne Margulies and former writing partner Bob Zmuda, 18 years later.

Jim and Andy: The Great Beyond debuts Friday, November 17, 2017 on Netflix.
