A North American Daimler subsidiary, Thomas Built Buses has officially introduced its first all-electric school bus. Beginning in 2019, the “Saf-T-Liner C2 Electric Bus,” or “Jouley” for short, will transport up to 81 kids to schools all over America.

A 160kWh battery provides a range of up to 160 kilometers, while additional battery packs are optional to offer a higher range for the quiet and emission-free automobile. Ultimately, Thomas Built Buses was able to draw upon Daimler’s electric technology resources during the development of the Saf-T-Liner C2 Electric Bus.

Thomas Built Buses, founded in 1916, is world renowned for its signature yellow school buses.
