As an effort to get a good gauge of the zeitgeist, the world's largest search engine, Google, has released its annual "Year In Search" list. Google's list of top searches are broken down into several categories that range from the usual suspects: movies, TV shows, music artists, tech, etc.

While basketball player Lamar Odom, the terrorist attacks at Charlie Hebdo in Paris, and action game make up the top three most popular queries, a few others within the Highsnobiety realm also happened to make the cut, unsurprisingly.

Given the popularity of Straight Outta Compton, which lands the number seven spot on the most searched movies list, N.W.A and Eazy-E round out the top 10 most popular music artists, while Drake, Rihanna and Kanye were all contenders as the year's most viral GIF.

Of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, Kylie and Kim, as well as Miley Cyrus, were all trumped by Malia Obama, who won this year's most popular selfie.

Head over to Google to see the full "Year In Search" results.
