Today Apple officially unveiled its long-rumored, all-new, 16-inch MacBook Pro. Pegged as "the world’s best pro notebook," the new design boasts an array of new features compared to the previous 15-inch MacBook Pro, which this one replaces.

The new pro obviously features a 16-inch Retina Display, it also packs new 8-core processors, improved speakers and features a revamped magic keyboard. Apple has also improved thermal performance in the new model.

While the 13-inch MacBook Pro will not be updated, the 16-inch model will replace the current 15-inch version, and has the same starting price of $2,399.  The notebook is immediately available for pre-order, at the same starting price of $2,399 just like its predecessor. This is the first major update to the series since the MacBook Pro line was redesigned three years ago.

Bloomberg reported yesterday that Apple was expected to drop a 16-inch iteration of the MacBook Pro. The publication’s tech reporter Mark Gurman, predicted that Apple would introduce the laptop at some point today, with sales starting at some point this week.
