It's no secret that the inspiration behind A$AP Rocky's latest single, “Babushka Boi," stems from the rapper wearing Gucci headscarfs to cover up a face scar in September 2018. Rocky never shies away from talking up his lavish lifestyle on his tracks, but we've never really been fed details about his diet until now. Tucked away in the second verse of the song there's a clever line about being vegan: "I ain't ducking n****s, I ain't ducking bullets either, shit/ I ain't duck sauce since I became a vegan."

Back in 2012, Rocky told Complex about how he had decided to become a pescatarian after learning about the torture process that the animals undergo before they are slaughtered and served to the masses. The following year, he lamented to Grub Street about how his restrictions were alienating for communal food gatherings.

“I don’t eat meat, so people don’t like to celebrate Thanksgiving with me. They can’t enjoy it," he said. “Most people in my family, they mix meat in everything that they cook. So it’s just pretty annoying.”

His disgust with the poultry industry specifically eventually led him to switch to vegetarianism and now he seems to have fully committed to the "vegan hip-hop movement." Earlier this year, he spoke with GQ about experimenting with sobriety as well. Stay tuned for more updates on Rocky's evolving lifestyle and watch the video for "Babushka Boi" here.
