Key Features: The latest collaborative Avnier x Salomon sneaker is inspired by The Marathon des Sables, a 160 mile race through the Sahara dubbed “the toughest footrace on earth.” The color scheme on the upper is supposed to represent the desert’s natural tones, while the blue outsole is a nod to the alluring mirages that appear among the dunes.

Editor’s Notes: Parisian label Avnier and outdoors specialist Salomon have teamed up once again, this time reworking the S/Lab XT-5 Softground sneaker. The project’s inspiration lies in the Marathon des Sables, with the color scheme a direct nod to the Saharan desert the 160 mile race is run in.
