Editor’s Notes: For its 2019 Fall collection, Billionaire Boys Club is looking up into the stars. After releasing its camo-heavy and Buddy-starring lookbook, the streetwear giant is blasting off to space once more for a collection paying homage to the 50th anniversary of NASA’s moon landing.
“Billionaire Boys Club has always drawn influence from space and innovation” states Creative Director and Designer Joseph Au. “With Fall 2019 we wanted to celebrate this major anniversary in our history by producing a collection that both pays tribute to the past while staying true to Billionaire Boys Club and our identity.”
Throughout the first delivery of the collection, many nods to NASA and military themes are present. Custom patchwork details are heavily seen on jackets, hoodies, and cargo pants, while constellation graphics as well as a stitched recreation of the moon landing is seen on a back of a vest with the words “peace, tranquility.”
For the second delivery, BBC shuttles us from the rocky surface of the moon and onto the warm shores of Hawaii. Inspired by the Apollo 11 capsule recovery off the coast of the Aloha state, delivery two ties in nautical themes with hues of blue and graphic images of the historic capsule recovery. For pricing, tees will go for $50, hoodies for $140, shorts for $150, and hats for $60.
To further pay homage to the NASA crew, BBC traveled to the Nordic Island of Iceland, where Neil Armstrong and the famous Apollo Astronauts team trained for their historic journey in 1967, to capture the collection’s lookbook. Check it out above.
