Where the runway meets the street

The C2H4 x Kappa SS18 collection is a complete embodiment of future aesthetics. Based on the premise that scientists are now living on Mars, this post-apocalyptic tie-up is a must cop for the upcoming season.

Founded by Shanghai-born Yixi Chen in 2014, C2H4 made certified waves when the collection debuted at New York Fashion Week. Tapping the expertise of Italian sportswear label Kappa, the range combines oversized silhouettes with icy blue, off-black, white and yellow tones.

In discussion with Highsnobiety, Chen remarked: “I’m interested in combining classical music with streetwear. Every collection has a story behind it; this collection is happening in 2082. It’s about a group of chemists traveling on a spaceship to Mars. It’s basically my vision of what people are going to wear in the future.”
