Captain Marvel officially has two extra scenes after the movie, one pre-credits and the other post-credits. The news was confirmed after the film's first press screening earlier this week.

Post-credits scenes have become something of a tradition in Marvel films since 2008's Iron Man, usually teasing the next film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What makes the prospect of post-credit scenes in Captain Marvel exciting is the likelihood they'll tease Avengers: Endgame, which is coming out seven weeks after the Brie Larson-starring solo flick.

Endgame is the fourth Avengers movie and marks the final chapter of the current MCU generation. It's almost certainly Chris Evans' last movie as Captain America, although it's unclear whether the rest of the Avengers cast will reprise their roles after Endgame.

The following paragraph could be considered a soft spoiler, so heads up.

It was revealed after the press screening that Captain Marvel opens with a touching tribute to the late Stan Lee. Before his passing in November last year, Lee had already filmed his cameos for both Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame. Whether the tribute includes his cameo or is in addition to it remains to be seen.
