We just showed you the runway show earlier today and here comes now a more detailed look at the ongoing collaboration between adidas and fashion designer Raf Simons. In its fifth season, the inspiration is taken from outer space with a vintage astronaut suit as the creative starting point. The characteristic adidas by Raf Simons models, the Stan Smith and Ozweego II are featured in subtle and off-white tones, with hues of yellow in addition to strong purple and green tones. The Stan Smith is also available in four different versions of worn and distressed leather, treated with an aged look. Interesting colors that one would not find in the main adidas Originals collection are used by Raf Simons, adding further differentiation and a luxury look and feel to the iconic sneaker silhouette. Especially the off-white sneakers of the collection are great and very different from most other offerings on the market. The Response Trail II is updated from last season in black and white with interchangeable spoilers in contrasting colors. Highlights of the collection are of course the two new silhouettes: the Response Trail Robot and the Ozweego Robot. Inspired by vintage astronaut suits and backpacks, molded and machined details similar to authentic closures, zippers and straps are added. Shiny vs. matte distressed materials complete the look of outer space and remind of the Raf Simons in-line sneaker offering from a few years ago.

Look out for the adidas by Raf Simons Fall/Winter 2015 sneaker collection to hit retailers July 2015.
