Editor’s Notes: Georgian shoemaker Crosty unveils its latest silhouette, the bulky, retro-inspired DRO. The sneaker style is available now in three launch colorways, green, black, and white, and retails for approximately $385). DRO, which stands for time in Georgian, is also the theme of the collection.
“We tried to create a design, that would be elegant and streetwear at the same time.” says Crosty’s George Mikaia. “These details give us the opportunity to think about time, one of the most important values in our life.”
The Georgian word for freedom is printed on each tongue and the campaign imagery, above, places a heavy emphasis on the fact that everyone has time and the freedom to decide what to do with it. Each pair also comes with the exact time it was packaged written on it.
“We think that people have the right to do whatever they want to with their bodies and lives. Freedom has no age, no gender, no race, no frames and no religion. Freedom is THE religion,” says Mikaia.
“We only live once and for not so long and we do not have the luxury to waste this precious time, living our lives the way others want.”
