It is safe to say that the politically-charged return of Eminem has been met with mixed reviews from around the world. While many have praised him for his new, considerably more commercial approach to rap, many have also berated him for it. And most recently, it would appear his mention of Die Antwoord on the recently released track “Untouchable” left a sour taste in the mouths of the former’s band members.
In Eminem’s third verse, he raps, “I’d rather hear ‘em say ‘Die N-word’ than Die Antwoord / Ninja, now it’s better disguised banter.” Despite the line itself not being offensive in any way, it was more the fact that Eminem deliberately pronounced “Die Antwoord” wrong for the sake of making his rhymes flow better. Yolandi Visser took to Instagram to voice her discontent:
