Back in May, Netflix shared a selection of teaser images for its forthcoming Matt Groening animation, Disenchantment. Now, the online streaming site has followed up with an official first trailer for the series.

While Groening's Futurama notably looked ahead and The Simpsons dealt with the present, Disenchantment is slated to be a blast from the past, focusing on a medieval fantasy world called Dreamland. The series will follow the adventures of Princess Bean and her personal elf companion Elfo and demon, Luci. Netflix writes that the "oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses, and lots of human fools."

The animation style is true to Groening's aesthetic and will likely follow a similar production format. The first season is reported to include 10 episodes and will air August 17 on Netflix.
