Fresh from today’s release of Everybody Looking, Gucci Mane and The Fader have come together for an intimate interview, which finds Guwop speaking on his incarceration, past drug habits and sobriety.

First off, Gucci talks being locked up by saying, “life in prison was… hell.” He then went on to reveal that being behind bars did help him a lot, however, especially in terms of his sobriety, severing bad relationships and reflection in general.

And while the Atlanta rapper says he’s been sober for three years now, he did reveal that he used to be on drugs so bad that he was smoking “near a pound of weed every other day,” drinking lean “like crazy every day,” and was simply “out of his mind.” Now, Guwop implores that he is “a sober, more conscious Gucci.”
