Key Features: The Lacombe tennis sneaker features a natural leather upper that will age uniquely on the tongue and heel patches. The Sobakov features angled stripes that run around the back of the upper. A two-way leather tongue/lace cover is a nod to football cleats like the Copa Mundial and Predator series. Gold Hender Scheme branding can be seen on the tongue and sock liner.

Editor’s Notes: adidas Originals and Hender Scheme have just announced their joint SS19 collection, comprising two colorways of the Sobakov and Lacombe. The Lacombe is a new model that fuses old-school elements of the Rod Laver signature shoe and the lesser-known John Newcombe model. The Sobakov was launched ahead of the 2018 football World Cup in Russia and is inspired by some of adidas’ most popular cleats.

Both models come with leather elements that, as is customary for Hender Scheme products, will age naturally over time, developing a patina unique to the individual shoe. Hender Scheme, of course, rose to prominence for its high-end leather homages to popular sneaker silhouettes such as the adidas Micropacer and the Nike Air Jordan 1. The collection is set to drop on April 26.
