Where form meets function

As of today, Instagram is adding GIFs to its Stories feature. As told by The Verge, the update will be supported by a GIPHY integration system which will allow users to add animated stickers to their pictures and videos.

To use, simply tap the Stickers icon usually found at the top of Stories and select the new GIF button. In it, users can expect to find a library of GIFs to browse through, including animated tacos and accessories.

“You can browse what’s currently trending on GIPHY or search their extensive collection to find a sticker for just about anything,” Instagram said in a new blog post. “From bounding letters and twirling hearts to dancing cats and pizza in space, these animated stickers help you make any photo or video funny, interesting, or creative.”

An additional feature which will allow you to upload photos and videos of any size to your story is set to follow in the next few weeks. Previously, stories cropped out parts of photos and only supported a portrait layout.

For those looking to use on Android and iOS, GIF stickers are available on version 29 of the app and should be available imminently For more on this, check out The Verge.
