Following a debut at Art Basel Miami, Kanye West is bringing his new original opera, Mary, to New York City. The program, directed by Vanessa Beecroft, is scheduled for December 22 in the David Geffen Hall at the Lincoln Center.

Mary is a follow-up to West’s first opera, Nebuchadnezzar, which premiered at the Hollywood Bowl in November. The work is based on the biblical story surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ, drawing from the books of Matthew and Luke which detail how Mary was chosen by God to give birth to the Messiah.

Performed by the Sunday Service collective alongside a cast of professional opera singers, Mary incorporates opera, fine art, modern dance, and gospel music. You can purchase tickets to the NYC showing here.

Not NYC, not LA.
