Celebrating his latest exhibition “Companionship in the Age of Loneliness” at National Gallery of Victoria, KAWS releases a limited edition book with the same title. The whopping 350-page hardback publication features new text by Margaret Atwood (The Handmaid’s Tale), a biographical essay by NGV Senior Curator of Contemporary Art, Dr Simon Maidment, and more than 200 images of his work.

As KAWS is one of the most prominent and prolific artists of his generation, this book includes documentation of the career-survey exhibition in Melbourne and provides a comprehensive overview of the artist’s work to date. This includes his KAWS:Holday experience in Mount Fuji, his largest sculpture to date — a bronze sculpture of his signature Companion, alongside his popular vinyl figures and furniture plush items.

KAWS’ Companionship in the Age of Loneliness book is available to purchase now on NGV Design Store’s website for $69.95 AUD (approx. $50 USD). The NGV Melbourne exhibit is open to the public from now until April 13, 2020. Time to book a plane ticket.
