After sharing a better look at its upcoming Tommy Hilfiger collab, Kith announces a new partnership with Branded Arts, a platform to raise awareness and contribute to under-funded school art programs. The collaboration will help support Maya Angelou High School in South Central Los Angeles.
The collab features a redesigned of the school’s new logo, a phoenix which speaks to Dr. Angelou’s powerful poems, and also features “MAYA” subtly spelled out in the wings. This will be painted on the school’s basketball court, as well as other locations.
For the capsule collection, KITH designs a short sleeve tee, two long sleeve tees, and one hoodie, all of which features a photo of Dr. Angelou on the front with a small Kith logo. On the backside, each pieces has an added quote of Angelou’s including “Prejudice is a burden that confuses the past, threatens the future and renders the present inaccessible.”
KITH has donated 1500 of these long sleeve tees to the students of Maya Angelou HS while the other pieces from the capsule will be released to the public through Kith’s stores and website today at 11 am EST. 100% of the proceeds from this launch will be donated to Maya Angelou High School.
