New music from Lil Uzi Vert is well overdue. Having dropped his last album Luv is Rage 2 in 2017, the rapper has since taken on a number of guest spots with Chance the Rapper, Playboi Carti and Travis Scott, with minimal solo releases in between. That being said, recent Instagram appearances from Uzi and Young Thug suggest that an upcoming collaboration is on the way.

The two notably spent time together over the weekend, as per the Instagram post above. During their social media appearances, fans picked up on a previously unheard track in Uzi’s Instagram live takeover. The short clip (below) originally made an appearance on Thug’s account, with the “XO Tour Llif3” rapper geeking out to his own song. Check it out.

In a follow-up interview with Hollywood Life, the rapper revealed that he’s “working on new music” and that the teaser he shared is currently untitled. Speaking on working with Thugger, Uzi noted “You know me and Young Thug, we have like 1500 songs together,” he told HL. “I’ll make it come out probably soon. Sometime this year,” he continued.

The two have often collaborated with each other in the past. Thug made an appearance on the inaugural Luv is Rage album dropping verses on “Yamborghini Dream” while Uzi stepped on Thug’s “Big Racks” which featured on Slime Season 2.
