The forthcoming post-apocalyptic action film Mad Max: Fury Road marks director, producer and co-writer David Miller’s fourth film to comprise his Mad Max franchise. After a 30-year hiatus, the franchise reprises its place back to the big screen, making it the first Mad Max film not to feature Mel Gibson as “Mad” Max Rockatanasky, starring Tom Hardy in his place. Set in a dystopian wasteland, the film follows the journey of lone drifter Max, who, with the help of Imperator Furiosa (played by Charlize Theron), strives to safely cross the desert and escape the madness of the sinister Immortan Joe and his gang.
The film will have its world premiere on May 14 at the 68th Cannes Film Festival in an out of competition screening, followed by a wide theatrical release on May 15. For more trailer mayhem, watch the first one here and the second one here.
